Criminology

Criminology is an elective course designed to introduce students in grades 9-12 to the study of criminology. Criminology is the study of crime, criminals, and the criminal justice system. Topics covered in this elective class will include: the study of crimes and crime statistics; categories of crimes and the type of people along with events connected to them; classical and biological theories of crimes and the people who commit them; psychological and sociological aspects of crimes and how they impact the criminal justice system; crime scene investigation and forensic aspects of crime; an overview of the criminal justice system and how it operates.
